By right clicking on other twitterers in the tree, you can

How do I follow a user found in the tree ?
Upon expanding the tree, if you wish to follow a user, right-click on the user and choose "Follow" from the menu.
How do I send a message to a user ?
Upon expanding the tree, if you wish to follow a user, right-click on the user and choose "Send a message" from the menu.
How do I view more information about a user ?
Upon expanding the tree, if you wish view more information about a user, right-click on the user and choose "User info" from the menu.
Why are some users underlined green ?
Users that are underlined green are the ones which you follow. This can be helpful when you have expanded the tree has grown big.
The loading panel doesn't disappear, why ?
